Special Education Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Oversee instructional programs for students with special needs in a virtual setting.

• Regularly consult with learning coaches and students through phone, Internet, and curriculum tools.

• Engage in all phases of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process.

• Collaborate with educators and district professionals to ensure adherence to federal and state regulations.

• Manage instructional guidance, provide virtual teaching, and develop general strategies for a caseload of students.

• Create, write, and assist in the implementation of IEPs and 504 plans.

• Assess tests and evaluations, complete report cards, and hold parent conferences.

• Communicate effectively with parents and learning coaches to ensure IEP objectives are achieved.

• Coordinate specially designed instruction and address learning challenges.

• Deliver direct services to students via web-conferencing software as necessary.

• Organize and facilitate virtual IEP-related meetings.

• Participate actively in the Student Support Team.

• Contribute to the development and execution of program modifications and strategies.

• Maintain IEP documentation, records, and procedures.

• Identify and coordinate service providers while assisting with service-provider contracts.

• Ensure accurate data management in the Learning Management System and special education software.

• Assist with state testing and coordinate special adaptations required by IEPs.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related educational field.

• Valid South Carolina Special Education certification.

• Preferred additional certification in a core content area.

• Experience with Special Education policy (IDEA) and/or administration.

• Proficient technology skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.

• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.

• Customer-centric approach.

• High level of adaptability.

• Proven capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• A history of being a team player.

• Willingness to travel occasionally for marketing and state testing activities.
