Special Education Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Develop and deliver tailored instruction to students who are receiving special education and related services.

• Work collaboratively with related service providers and general educators to implement necessary accommodations and modifications.

• Create and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Prior Written Notices, and potentially evaluation documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations.

• Organize and lead meetings throughout the special education process.

• Communicate and collaborate effectively with parents, staff, and administrative personnel regarding student planning and progress.

• Oversee the transition of new students eligible for special education and related services.

• Assist students through consultation, resources, and inclusive models across various academic settings.

• Report directly to the Headmaster.

⛳️ Requirements

• Texas Teaching Certification in Special Education is mandatory.

• Generalist or Core Content Area Certification that encompasses the assigned grade levels is required.

• A Bachelor's degree is necessary.

• 1-2 years of experience in special education is preferred.

• Must successfully complete a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance as per state regulations.

• Capability to perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, repetitive hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching.

• May need to lift or move equipment weighing up to 15 pounds.

• Local travel may be required for training and professional development activities.
