This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Support the department and MNCA leadership in overseeing compliance with special education due process, staff caseloads, paraprofessional assignments, the continuum of services, child find initiatives, child count, and program development.

• Manage the supervision of due process timelines and documentation.

• Offer assistance and guidance regarding due process to special education educators.

• Act as the district representative during IEP meetings.

• Lead grade band meetings.

• Coach and demonstrate academic as well as social/emotional/behavioral strategies.

• Aid administrators in the evaluation of paraprofessionals and teachers.

• Liaise with parents, school personnel, and external agencies on matters related to special education.

• Foster a positive environment and maintain collaborative relationships that support a culturally proficient educational system.

• Assist the Director of Special Education in assessing, developing, and refining special education programs.

• Champion and direct continuous improvement initiatives at both the school and organizational levels.

• Conduct interviews for potential special education teachers, case managers, and support staff, collaborating with leadership on the selection of candidates.

• Supervise special education staff through regular collaborative and problem-solving meetings.

• Organize and allocate case managers to student caseloads, establish class sections, and balance responsibilities effectively.

• Carry out other job-related duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred: Minnesota Director of Special Education licensure.

• Minnesota teacher certification or Minnesota related service certification (such as social worker, speech language pathologist, etc.) is required.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Educational Leadership.

• Experience with multi-categorical disabilities across all educational levels.

• Proven experience in providing transitional skills and opportunities for students with disabilities.

• Proficient technological skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.

• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.

• A customer-focused mindset.

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

• High degree of adaptability and flexibility.

• A collaborative team player with proven leadership capabilities.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Willingness to travel occasionally for marketing and state testing events, which may include overnight travel.
