This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +46 more states.
• Deliver tailored Spanish course content in a digital setting.
• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning journey.
• Customize learning experiences to meet the unique needs of each student.
• Track student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system.
• Collaborate closely with students and parents/learning coaches to facilitate learning towards defined goals.
• Offer engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
• Differentiate instruction based on the level of student mastery.
• Enhance course content utilizing approved synchronous and asynchronous tools.
• Manage the grade book and uphold academic integrity.
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.
• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress.
• Prepare students for important standardized tests.
• Build and sustain positive relationships with families.
• Communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents.
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting issues.
• Travel for in-person professional development, student assessments, and other school obligations.
• Valid state Department of Education Spanish Teaching Certification required.
• Must reside in one of the 50 states or Washington, D.C.
• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Must possess an active state teaching license.
• Ability to pass a required background check.
• Must be able to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week.
• Capability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during work hours.
• Willingness to travel as needed, averaging once per month and/or around 20% of the time.
• Experience with the targeted age group is preferred.
• Familiarity with supporting adults and children in technology use is desired.
• Teaching experience in either an online or traditional classroom setting is preferred.
• Experience with online learning platforms is advantageous.
• Ability to analyze and produce numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data is desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is preferred.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms is beneficial.
• Capability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and stay fluent in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum is desired.
