Sourcing Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee venue sourcing initiatives for client meetings and events of low to medium complexity.

• Act as a strategic partner for clients by identifying meeting objectives and grasping strategic business aims.

• Integrate client strategic business objectives into the venue sourcing process.

• Utilize Cvent and other venue sourcing platforms to obtain proposals through the RFP process.

• Conduct site inspections as requested by clients and as necessary based on approvals.

• Negotiate with venues to maximize value and align with client strategic business objectives.

• Facilitate venue contracting in line with established standards and client interests.

• Transition sourced venues to the assigned Meeting Planner, including client objectives and venue considerations.

• Keep precise project records and maintain data in Cvent/internal systems.

• Oversee daily client venue budgets and monitor venue expenditures.

• Contribute insights to support the financial closure of projects.

• Stay informed about venue trends, sourcing methods, and client service.

• Engage in approved vendor-supported educational opportunities, such as familiarization trips, educational seminars, and receptions.

• Remain updated on supplier relations contracts.

• Act as a subject-matter expert in venue identification and contract negotiation.

• Foster a positive team culture and inspire teammates to achieve business objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the meetings and events sector with a focus on sourcing.

• An Associate’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.

• Solid understanding of meeting and incentive planning with an emphasis on sourcing.

• Capability to weave client strategic business objectives throughout the sourcing process.

• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively prioritize while managing several projects.

• Strong attention to detail and capability to perform well under pressure.

• Proficiency in engaging with key client stakeholders and C-level executives with a professional demeanor focused on client strategic business goals.

• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with clients, vendors, and internal team members.

• Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.

• Passion for mentoring others to enhance their performance.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Teams.

• Competence in utilizing Cvent for sourcing (e.g., RFPs, contract negotiations, etc.).

• Willingness to travel (15-25%).

• Involvement in industry organizations/events (e.g., MPI, IMEX).
