This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take full ownership of the procurement lifecycle from initial intake and sourcing to purchase orders, vendor onboarding, and invoice reconciliation.
• Ensure the smooth progression of procurement requests to prevent any disruptions for business teams.
• Enhance procurement processes within Zip and related systems by eliminating delays and establishing controls for accurate data management.
• Provide reports on the procurement pipeline, cycle times, and realized savings.
• Manage sourcing events from the initial scoping phase to the award, including evaluations of vendors, execution of RFx, and renewals.
• Develop business cases for award and renewal decisions by assessing total cost of ownership, rightsizing licenses and tiers, consolidating vendors, and performing market benchmarking.
• Measure and quantify savings achieved.
• Lead commercial negotiations for assigned agreements.
• Collaborate with Legal, Security, and Privacy teams to secure protective terms without hindering business operations.
• Utilize AI for tasks such as contract summarization, initial redlines, spend and proposal analysis, market research, and communications with stakeholders.
• Validate AI outputs against original source materials before usage or dissemination.
• Share effective AI methodologies with colleagues.
• Facilitate business operations through training, playbooks, and guidance on engaging with procurement.
• Customize procurement requirements, cost analyses, and trade-offs for engineers, vendors, and finance leaders.
• Familiarize yourself with Zip, the intake process, and the current vendor portfolio during the first 90 days.
• Start conducting sourcing events and renewals within the first 90 days.
• Take ownership of a specific spend category within six months.
• Achieve measurable savings and improvements in cycle times.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or contract operations, preferably with SaaS and software expenditures.
• Practical experience using an intake-to-procure or procurement workflow platform such as Zip, Coupa, Ariba, or similar.
• Proven experience in reviewing and redlining commercial agreements while collaborating with Legal to finalize outstanding terms.
• Hands-on experience in managing sourcing events or renewals through to award or signature decisions.
• Ability to present sourcing recommendations, cost analyses, and commercial trade-offs to finance, technical, and vendor audiences effectively.
• Experience in managing multiple procurement requests at various stages, with documented tracking in a procurement or workflow system.
• Familiarity with AI tools like ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or Claude for research, communication, analysis, documentation, automation, workflow optimization, and decision-making.
• Demonstrated ability to verify AI outputs against source documents or systems of record prior to informing decisions or sharing information.
• Preferred: At least 3 years of procurement experience, including managing sourcing events from start to finish.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, finance, or a related field.
• Preferred: CPSM, CIPS, or similar certification.
• Preferred: Experience with SaaS licensing models, usage-based pricing, and leveraging renewal timing.
• Preferred: Understanding of vendor risk, security, and privacy review processes.
• Preferred: Experience in building or automating procurement workflows, including the use of AI.
• Preferred: Proficiency in Notion, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365.
• Preferred: Previous experience in a remote-first, fast-paced technology environment.
• Up to 10% travel may be required.
