This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Manage the complete procurement and account oversight for third-party customers across various facilities.
β’ Identify and source new ingredients, project demand, and negotiate pricing.
β’ Serve as the representative for designated categories with major accounts, ensuring an outstanding client experience.
β’ Spearhead category sourcing, discover new suppliers, and foster product innovations.
β’ Handle both short-term purchasing and long-term sustainable business strategies.
β’ Negotiate supplier agreements, pricing, and terms with the 1st Party Misfits Merchandising team.
β’ Assess vendor reliability, quality, and compliance, implementing necessary corrective measures.
β’ Develop contingency strategies to address supply chain disruptions, process challenges, and quality concerns.
β’ Oversee, mentor, and develop a Buyer Analyst tasked with demand planning and purchase order management.
β’ Collaborate with Inventory Planning, Merchandising, Operations, and Transportation teams.
β’ Mediate cross-functional conflicts while balancing business needs with customer commitments.
β’ Analyze data, recognize trends, make suggestions, and establish 3β6 month action plans.
β’ Document procedures, present insights, and enhance operational efficiency.
β’ 2β4 years of experience in Category Management and/or wholesale procurement or third-party account management.
β’ If working with Produce: experience in the produce sector is required; overall food industry experience is preferred.
β’ Experience in Ecommerce and digital platforms is preferred.
β’ Meal Kit experience is a plus.
β’ Bachelor's Degree and/or relevant experience combined with 3 years of professional work.
β’ Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills.
β’ Strong grasp of financial principles, including forecasting and profitability analysis.
β’ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar).
β’ Experience in managing the contract process.
β’ Extensive knowledge of technical specifications and features pertaining to products within the category.
β’ Familiarity with certifications such as USDA Organic, Fair Trade, and relevant food safety regulations.
β’ Technical knowledge of product quality standards and processes, including shelf life, packaging durability, and food safety.
β’ All compliance requirements must be fulfilled on schedule, including Annual Harassment Prevention Training, EHS/OSHA Training, Workplace Violence Prevention Training, IT Security Training, and Manager Training.
