Somali Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Facilitate effective communication between Somali and English speakers.

• Process information promptly and accurately while maintaining professionalism.

• Ensure a calm and secure working atmosphere.

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the interpreter's code of conduct.

• Possess familiarity with industry-specific terminology, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Engage in internal professional development training sessions.

• Communicate and report to the team leader.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in both English and Somali.

• Residing in the United States.

• At least 3 years of experience in interpretation.

• Exceptional listening, retention, and note-taking abilities.

• Capability to convey accurate concepts and meanings in accordance with established interpretation protocols, avoiding any omissions or additions.

• Ability to clarify certain cultural concepts to prevent miscommunication, with permission or upon the client's request.

• 90% proficiency in English.

• Reliable wired internet connection.

• USB wired headset.

• Compatible with Windows 10 or Mac operating systems.

• Language assessment and background verification may be necessary depending on location.
