This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
β’ Design, develop, and execute data ingestion, transformation, and integration pipelines utilizing Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric, and associated Azure data services.
β’ Construct and enhance scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-efficient data lakehouse and warehouse solutions.
β’ Create and sustain data models, ETL/ELT processes, and historical data versioning mechanisms.
β’ Set up and oversee Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 environments, focusing on organization, lifecycle management, and archival processes.
β’ Execute data validation, cleansing, reconciliation, and quality assurance measures.
β’ Collaborate with BI and analytics teams to prepare data for reporting, analytics, and AI applications.
β’ Implement security, encryption, identity-based access, and compliance best practices.
β’ Support data governance, lineage tracking, access patterns, and operational readiness.
β’ Establish monitoring and operational reporting for production data platforms.
β’ Work with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data in both cloud and on-premises settings.
β’ Engage in technical workshops, discovery sessions, requirements gathering, code reviews, testing, and quality assurance activities.
β’ Convert business requirements into actionable technical solutions.
β’ Generate technical documentation, design artifacts, migration strategies, and operational runbooks.
β’ Contribute reusable frameworks, templates, and engineering best practices.
β’ Adhere to source control, CI/CD, and environment promotion protocols.
β’ Assist in post-implementation troubleshooting, optimization, and client enablement.
β’ Take ownership of assigned deliverables and proactively manage delivery risks.
β’ Demonstrated hands-on experience in delivering modern data engineering solutions on Microsoft Azure and/or Microsoft Fabric.
β’ Solid engineering background in data pipelines, lakehouse or warehouse architectures, and relational data platforms.
β’ Practical experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks, SQL Server, Azure SQL, ADLS Gen2, and Microsoft Fabric.
β’ Experience in designing and managing production data platforms, including data modeling, incremental processing, historical retention, monitoring, and operational support.
β’ Understanding of data security, governance, and compliance, encompassing identity-based access, encryption, HIPAA, PII handling, and NIST 800-53.
β’ Experience in consulting or project-based delivery environments.
β’ Familiarity with source control, CI/CD, testing, and environment promotion practices.
β’ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
β’ Microsoft Certified Azure Data Engineer Associate, required or expected within six to twelve months.
β’ Willingness to travel to SHI, partner, and customer events.
β’ Capability to work autonomously as well as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team.
β’ Dedication to continuous learning and professional development in Microsoft technologies and data visualization trends.
β’ Strong ethical standards and commitment to data privacy, governance, and security policies.
β’ Preferred: experience with dimensional and lakehouse data modeling, advanced proficiency in Azure and Microsoft Fabric, infrastructure as code, Power BI operational reporting, public sector or regulated industry experience, AI-ready workloads, reusable engineering frameworks, and Azure Databricks.
