Solutions Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the acceleration of the Product Lifecycle (PLC) by implementing and reinforcing best practices in enterprise systems engineering across various business units.

• Collaborate with engineering teams and leaders within each business unit to gain insights into product strategies, development challenges, and execution hurdles.

• Facilitate the adoption of standardized lifecycle frameworks, requirements practices, and verification & validation (V&V) approaches while maintaining necessary product-specific flexibility.

• Serve as an enterprise systems engineer, engaging in architectural reviews and design decisions across different product lines.

• Promote the adoption of modular architecture through the reuse of requirements, defining interfaces, and leveraging verification evidence.

• Assess existing architectures and modules to uncover opportunities for reuse, simplification, or redesign that enhance quality, reduce costs, and facilitate design transfer to manufacturing.

• Work alongside engineering and digital teams to pilot AI-enabled process enhancements throughout product development, including requirements reuse, V&V evidence mining, and design insights.

• Disseminate best practices, emerging technologies, and systems thinking within engineering communities.

• Operate at the enterprise level within Agilent’s Systems Solutions Center of Excellence, acting as a technical integrator, enterprise reviewer, and driver of innovation across Agilent product lines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

• Typically, 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, product development, architecture, automation, or related engineering disciplines within complex technical settings.

• Proven track record in applying systems engineering principles throughout the product lifecycle, including requirements management, architecture development, verification, and validation.

• Demonstrated capability to lead and influence cross-functional engineering initiatives across hardware, software, and integrated systems.

• Experience in participating in architecture reviews, design reviews, and technical governance activities across multiple product lines.

• Strong skills in systems thinking, problem-solving, and technical communication.

• Ability to identify opportunities for reuse, standardization, automation, and continuous improvement within engineering organizations.

• Familiarity with digital engineering, AI-enabled development practices, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and product lifecycle management tools is preferred.

• Experience in driving enterprise-wide engineering transformation, platform strategies, or process improvement initiatives is highly desirable.

• Travel required: 25% of the time.
