Solutions Architect – Modeler

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create documentation for system interfaces and APIs utilizing OpenAPI 3.x specifications, ensuring adherence to enterprise API governance standards and registration within the enterprise catalog.

• Develop conceptual, logical, physical, security, deployment, and integration architecture perspectives in accordance with Federal enterprise architecture standards.

• Validate design and technical integrity throughout all program phases, ensuring compliance with Federal standards, cloud platforms, and enterprise integration patterns.

• Design the system integration strategy, including data exchanges with both internal and external entities.

• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate technical risks throughout the program's lifecycle.

• Apply Model-based Systems Engineering to produce the System Architecture Design Document, Solution Design Specification, and Security Architecture Overview as contract deliverables.

• Engage with Federal stakeholders, technical teams, and subcontractor partners to transform business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Ensure compliance with security measures, optimize performance, and adhere to Federal IT modernization best practices, including FedRAMP High, TIC 3.0, Zero Trust, and ATO.

• Act as the liaison between business requirements and technological solutions for the modernization of a Federal enterprise acquisition system.

• This position is contingent upon the award of the contract.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field of study.

• Must be a US Citizen capable of passing a Tier 2 background investigation.

• Over 10 years of experience in enterprise or solution architecture or technical leadership, with a minimum of 5 years modeling large-scale Federal systems.

• Proven track record of successfully delivering enterprise IT modernization projects involving intricate data migration and legacy system integration.

• Significant experience with architectural and modeling frameworks, standards, and methodologies such as UAF, DoDAF, or TOGAF.

• Proficiency in modeling tools, preferably CATIA Magic, NoMagic Cameo, or equivalent tools.

• Expert knowledge of MBSE tools and modeling languages, including UML, SysML, and BPMN.

• Extensive experience in designing and deploying cloud-based acquisition or contract management systems for Federal agencies at the cabinet or enterprise scale.

• In-depth understanding of cloud platforms, enterprise integration, security compliance, and IT performance management in Federal contexts.

• Practical experience with the Appian platform or low-code enterprise solutions.

• Familiarity with the Federal acquisition lifecycle (FAR/VAAR) and contracting business processes.

• Advanced understanding of API design and management, including REST, SOAP, OpenAPI 3.x, and API gateway patterns.

• Experience working with Azure Government Cloud (MAG) and FedRAMP High compliance.

• Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise integration patterns, microservices architecture, and service-oriented architecture (SOA).

• Experience in data architecture, data migration strategies, and master data management.

• Expertise in security architecture, including Zero Trust, NIST 800-53, ATO processes, and Federal security frameworks.

• Strong grasp of Federal IT standards such as TIC 3.0, IPv6, and VA TRM.

• Architecture certifications like TOGAF, AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, or Open Group Certified Architect.

• Experience leading Architecture Review Boards and establishing governance frameworks.
