Solutions Architect – Retail

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete technical strategy for accounts, spanning from initial discovery to production deployment and growth in consumption.

• Facilitate intricate architectural discussions and design scalable, production-quality solutions across data engineering, ML/AI, and real-time analytics.

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customer architects, engineering leads, and Directors.

• Achieve technical victories in competitive scenarios through customized solutions that highlight Databricks' unique advantages.

• Establish and promote a developing technical specialization, becoming a key resource for the team.

• Coordinate with DSAs, SSAs, and Partners to provide all-encompassing solutions.

• Shape product direction by offering structured feedback on client needs and competitive gaps.

• Participate in various interviews, including those with recruiters, hiring managers, design and architecture teams, live coding assessments, build/demo/pitch sessions, and reference checks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in solutions architecture, data engineering, technical pre-sales, or a senior hands-on technical position.

• Strong coding skills in Python and SQL, including live coding, debugging, and solution development.

• Extensive knowledge in distributed data systems architecture, scalable pipelines, streaming architectures, lakehouse patterns, and cloud-native data platforms.

• Proficient with the Databricks Platform or the ability to quickly gain proficiency.

• Developing technical expertise in specific areas such as real-time/streaming, ML/AI, data governance, or migrations.

• Capability to lead architectural discussions with senior technical stakeholders, including whiteboarding, design reviews, and trade-off evaluations.

• Experience with production deployments on AWS, Azure, or GCP, covering infrastructure, security, and governance aspects.

• Proven track record of driving platform adoption and increasing consumption within accounts.

• Excellent communication skills to convey complex architectures into business value.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative field, or equivalent experience.

• Databricks certifications, familiarity with Snowflake, AWS native services, or Azure Synapse, experience in a data/AI company or cloud provider, and industry domain expertise are advantageous.
