Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Oversee the hands-on execution of intricate, high-stakes, and multi-domain customer projects.

• Develop, set up, and implement Microsoft Azure environments, including landing zones, management groups, subscriptions, Azure Policy, RBAC, and cost governance.

• Execute Azure networking, hybrid connectivity, Azure Firewall, NSGs, VPN Gateway, Private Endpoints, and Azure DNS.

• Implement identity and access solutions utilizing Microsoft Entra ID, Entra Connect, Cloud Sync, Conditional Access, and Privileged Identity Management.

• Deliver Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 implementations, which involve host pools, image management, FSLogix, scaling, and security baselines.

• Plan and carry out server, workload, and data migrations to Azure using Azure Migrate.

• Implement Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery, including recovery testing against agreed RTO and RPO.

• Configure security and monitoring across Azure and Microsoft 365 using Defender for Cloud, Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics.

• Automate deployments utilizing PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Infrastructure as Code with Bicep, ARM, and/or Terraform.

• Deploy and configure Microsoft 365, Intune, Sophos, Mimecast, and Acronis solutions.

• Serve as the final technical escalation point, diagnosing and resolving intricate configuration, integration, and environment challenges.

• Create High-Level Designs, Low-Level Designs, and Statements of Work.

• Provide design assurance, technical guidance, and conduct design reviews throughout the delivery process.

• Assist in pre-sales scoping, solution qualification, technical feasibility evaluations, and proposal design contributions.

• Conduct customer technical design reviews and obtain solution architecture sign-off.

• Establish technical standards, deployment checklists, configuration baselines, and design templates.

• Validate UAT results and technical acceptance against approved designs and Statements of Work.

• Mentor Level 1 and Level 2 engineers and support their professional development.

• Collaborate with Support Desk, NOC, Product Managers, and Solution Leads on operational supportability.

• Identify and communicate risks, design constraints, and technical dependencies.

• Lead post-implementation design reviews and incorporate insights gained into standards.

• Maintain expert-level technical skills and vendor certifications across the Babble solution portfolio.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in solution design and delivery within Modern Workplace, Cyber Security, Backup/DR, Networking, and Azure.

• Proven track record of authoring High-Level Designs, Low-Level Designs, and Statements of Work.

• Pre-sales technical experience is essential.

• History of mentoring and enhancing the technical expertise of a delivery team.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), or current equivalent certification — preferred.

• Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100), or current equivalent certification — preferred.

• Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert (MS-102), or current equivalent certification — preferred.

• Sophos Certified Architect certifications for Sophos Firewall and Sophos Central Endpoint/Server, along with corresponding prerequisites for Sophos Certified Engineer — preferred.

• Acronis Certified Engineer (Cyber Protect) — preferred.

• Mimecast Certified Product Professional, Advanced level — preferred.

• PRINCE2 7th Edition Practitioner or equivalent project management certification — advantageous.

• ITIL 4 Foundation or ITIL Version 5 Foundation — advantageous.

• CISSP or equivalent senior security certification; CompTIA Security+ is an acceptable foundational alternative — advantageous.

• CrowdStrike Falcon certifications such as CCFA or CCFR and familiarity with Falcon Complete — advantageous.

• A proper home working setup with a desk and chair in a quiet environment.

• Stable internet connection is required.

• A solution to mitigate loadshedding; working from a public space is not acceptable.
