AI/ML Solution Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of solution design from the initial workshop to a delivery-ready blueprint.

• Facilitate solution workshops with program teams, ministries, engineering, and external stakeholders.

• Translate requirements into service boundaries, data stores, sequence diagrams, decision gates, and lists of open questions.

• Document architecture decision records and address any conflicting technical decisions.

• Design architecture for LLM generation, curriculum knowledge-graph retrieval, LLM-as-judge pipelines, and constraint-based paper assembly.

• Create human-AI workflows that ensure auditability, segregation of duties, cycle-pinned configuration, and protection of student PII.

• Select and manage models, prompts, evaluation gates, fallbacks, and OCR providers.

• Define Azure/AWS platform architecture encompassing identity, networking, LLMOps/MLOps, observability, and sovereign hosting.

• Establish contracts, schemas, metadata logging, evaluation harnesses, release gates, rollback mechanisms, cost controls, and FinOps guardrails.

• Remain involved with systems through the build phase and initial production cycle.

• Develop POVs, architecture packs, sequence packs, workshop artifacts, and reusable country adaptation patterns.

• Mentor technical leads on the distinctions between model-based logic and deterministic workflow logic.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in building software or data/AI systems, with recent roles as a Solution Architect, AI/ML Architect, or Principal/Staff Engineer responsible for end-to-end architecture.

• Successfully delivered at least one production AI/ML system at scale that met real security, cost, and operational reviews.

• Proven ability to produce delivery-ready architecture blueprints that encompass services, data stores, IAM, failure modes, evaluation strategies, and cost models.

• Extensive experience with cloud technologies on Azure and/or AWS.

• Skilled in defending landing-zone and private-endpoint architectures, as well as managing real compute/inference/OCR expenditures.

• Proficient in Python programming.

• Hands-on experience with classical ML, model training, evaluation, feature pipelines, LLM APIs, embeddings, and vector search under production loads.

• Comfortable leading workshops with non-engineers and effectively translating between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Excellent written English skills.

• Willingness to work across time zones, including regular early mornings or late evenings.

• Strongly preferred: Azure AI in addition to AWS or GCP; experience in LLMOps/MLOps; document AI/OCR at scale; structured-knowledge RAG and hybrid search; experience in education, assessment, public-sector, health, finance, or identity domains; relevant cloud certifications; knowledge of agent security; FinOps expertise.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Semantic Kernel/Microsoft Agent Framework, MCP, constraint solvers, exam-blueprint/item-bank systems, multilingual generation, golden/eval datasets, government data systems, data-sharing agreements, or sovereign hosting experience.
