Solution Architect/Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the lead for the Enterprise Architecture team, overseeing task assignments and management, conducting daily stand-ups and status updates, generating weekly consolidated reports, and keeping the federal lead informed.

• Establish target infrastructure architectures within hybrid and multi-cloud settings, networks, platforms, and enterprise systems.

• Design and execute comprehensive technical solutions aimed at enhancing scalability, resilience, performance, and cost efficiency.

• Spearhead infrastructure modernization efforts, evaluate legacy systems, devise migration strategies, and promote technology adoption.

• Engineer and implement solutions across AWS/Azure, virtualization platforms, on-premises data centers, and containerized workloads.

• Architect and construct LAN/WAN, VPN, SD-WAN, firewall, load balancer, and cloud-networking solutions.

• Generate architectural diagrams, data-flow diagrams, integration maps, logical and physical infrastructure designs, and solution blueprints.

• Analyze and document data flows for systems and applications.

• Create automation and code-based solutions utilizing Python, PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.

• Resolve escalated technical issues spanning networking, cloud, systems, and application layers.

• Assess and recommend technology platforms, integration patterns, and architectural standards.

• Ensure that solutions adhere to security, governance, and compliance frameworks.

• Assist in capacity planning, resilience, disaster recovery, and business continuity design.

• Collaborate with project management, engineering, security, and application teams throughout the design, build, deployment, and optimization phases.

• Produce technical documentation, engineering protocols, operational runbooks, and implementation guides.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or a Master's degree with additional years of experience accepted as a substitute for a degree.

• Over 12 years of relevant experience; including 12+ years in enterprise architecture, infrastructure engineering, and cloud solutions.

• At least 12 years in a leadership or lead architect position.

• Practical experience with hybrid/multi-cloud environments, AWS, Azure, on-premises data centers, virtualization, and containerized workloads like Kubernetes/Docker.

• Background in enterprise networking with LAN/WAN, VPN, SD-WAN, firewalls, load balancers, VPC/VNet, routing, and peering.

• Proven experience in leading infrastructure modernization, legacy migrations, and large-scale implementations.

• Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.

• Experience in technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, integration maps, runbooks, and implementation guides.

• Familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS frameworks.

• Expertise in constructing scalable, resilient, secure, and cost-optimized architectures.

• Strong problem-solving abilities across networking, cloud, systems, and application layers.

• Experience with capacity planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices.

• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.

• Desired or preferred certifications include: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, Azure DevOps Expert, Azure Security Engineer Associate, ITIL Foundation or ITIL 4 Managing Professional, PMP or equivalent.
