This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia, +1 more state.
• Develop technical roadmaps and architectural strategies for cloud migration, application modernization, and scalable digital solutions.
• Create secure, scalable, resilient, and highly available systems that align with business goals.
• Integrate architectural direction with hands-on development, prototyping, technical validation, and delivery support.
• Investigate architectural options, assess tradeoffs and risks, and provide recommendations.
• Generate architecture diagrams, decision records, technical plans, and system representations.
• Convert architecture into actionable epics, features, stories, dependencies, and technical sequencing.
• Design security-first solutions to safeguard customer and enterprise data while ensuring compliance.
• Collaborate with architects, engineering leaders, product partners, and business stakeholders.
• Create data and integration architectures; write and review advanced SQL, data models, indexing strategies, and query plans.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across applications, services, integrations, and databases.
• Design APIs, third-party integrations, service boundaries, integration contracts, versioning, error handling, and data integrity controls.
• Support distributed and event-driven solutions utilizing Azure Service Bus, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
• Design and support Microsoft Azure solutions and facilitate the migration of applications from on-premises environments.
• Enhance application onboarding patterns for consistent cloud workload migration.
• Utilize infrastructure-as-code and deployment tools such as Bicep, Helm, GitHub Enterprise, and GitHub Actions.
• Implement Agile and DevOps practices, promoting observability, resilience, fault isolation, secure configuration, and operational readiness.
• Troubleshoot architectural, environmental, integration, deployment, and operational issues alongside engineers.
• Design and develop backend services using C#, .NET, .NET Core, Web APIs, web applications, and service-oriented architectures.
• Build and maintain front-end applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, Vue.js, React, or Angular.
• Design and assess authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and modern identity platforms.
• Assist in identity-provider modernization and the modernization of legacy applications.
• Advocate for clean, maintainable, testable code and sound engineering practices.
• Mentor engineers through pairing, design reviews, code reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, and technical discussions.
• Influence stakeholders and align technical decisions with business objectives, customer needs, delivery constraints, and risks.
• Explore unfamiliar technical areas and communicate clear, actionable insights.
• Encourage ownership, accountability, curiosity, collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement.
• High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
• 8 to 10 years of software development experience, including roles in technical leadership or architecture.
• At least 2 years of experience in creating technical roadmaps and presenting architectural solutions.
• Strong hands-on expertise in C#, .NET, .NET Core, Web APIs, and the broader Microsoft technology stack.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure, encompassing cloud migration, cloud-native solution design, and application modernization.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code and delivery automation tools, including Bicep, Helm, GitHub Enterprise, and GitHub Actions, or similar tooling.
• Proficient in designing secure authentication and authorization solutions utilizing OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, asynchronous communication, and event-driven architecture.
• Strong understanding of API design, third-party integrations, SQL development, data modeling, indexing, and performance optimization.
• Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and at least one modern front-end framework such as Vue.js, React, or Angular.
• Experience working in Agile and DevOps settings with a focus on quality, automation, collaboration, and continuous delivery.
• Ability to independently research unfamiliar technical areas, evaluate alternatives, and present clear recommendations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Proven leadership and collaboration abilities, including mentoring engineers, influencing stakeholders, and guiding projects without relying solely on formal authority.
• Preferred qualifications include identity-provider modernization, Kubernetes and Helm, Azure Service Bus/Kafka/RabbitMQ, experience with security-sensitive or regulated applications, legacy or monolithic application decomposition, Azure certifications, and exposure to AWS or Google Cloud.
