This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop the Corrections and Campus Security Solutions Engineering function from inception
• Recruit, onboard, mentor, retain, and cultivate the team
• Set technical quality benchmarks for demonstrations, trial plans, site evaluations, and customer-facing documentation
• Manage Solutions Engineering capacity and resource distribution throughout the segment
• Lead technical successes across corrections and campus security on a national level
• Act as the senior technical escalation contact for critical pursuits, deployments, and customer challenges
• Collaborate with Sales leadership on pipeline management, forecasting, account strategy, and land-and-expand initiatives
• Develop playbooks, reference architectures, and discovery strategies for corrections and campus security
• Ensure site assessment quality and validate dock locations prior to deployment
• Conduct proofs of concept leading to structured deployments that deliver measurable operational value
• Oversee integrations and airspace strategies related to CAD, dispatch, video and evidence management, streaming platforms, BVLOS approvals, waivers, COAs, and docked operations
• Maintain expertise in public sector procurement pathways, including cooperative contracts, grant-funded initiatives, and public sector purchasing cycles
• Advocate for customer requirements to Product and Engineering through prioritized specifications
• Create enablement materials, reference architectures, and reusable technical resources
• Stay updated with first-hand product knowledge through regular hands-on usage
• Report directly to the Director of Solutions Engineering – SLED
• Over 5 years of pertinent technical experience, including customer-facing roles in solutions engineering, field engineering, or applications engineering
• At least 1 year of experience leading a technical team, either formally or as a technical lead with responsibilities for hiring and mentorship
• Strong grasp of drone technology, Public Safety sUAS operations, and regulatory compliance
• Familiarity with Drone as First Responder operational concepts and dock-based remote operations
• Practical knowledge of Public Safety technologies, including CAD, VMS, and related software platforms
• Proven history of hiring, onboarding, developing, and retaining technical talent
• Experience operating within a Sales organization, including managing a quota and deal strategy
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time
• Capability to lift up to 60 lbs unaided
• FAA Part 107 certification is required for certain positions; obtaining it within the first 60 days is strongly encouraged for all Skydio employees
• Previous public safety service as a sworn officer, firefighter, or agency UAS program lead is a plus
• Experience in establishing a Drone as First Responder program and with dock-based, remote, and BVLOS operations at scale is advantageous
• Familiarity with grant funding pathways and cooperative purchasing options is beneficial
• Working knowledge of Salesforce, Palantir, Databricks, or similar platforms is a bonus
