Solicitor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Manage a caseload of Court of Protection cases from initiation to conclusion

• Provide legal advice on welfare and property affairs matters

• Draft applications, witness statements, pleadings, and associated documents

• Prepare court bundles and oversee all elements of case preparation

• Liaise with Counsel, the Court, Social Workers, and other pertinent parties

• Represent the Local Authority at hearings as required

• Offer legal guidance to Adult Social Care teams

• Advise on statutory obligations and responsibilities in accordance with applicable laws

• Assist with safeguarding and complex care cases

• Provide practical, solution-focused legal advice to client departments

• Aid in policy interpretation and legal risk management

• Independently handle a varied and intricate caseload

• Ensure timely advancement of cases within stipulated deadlines

• Keep accurate case records and documentation

• Conduct legal research and deliver written advice

• Carry out administrative duties and manage documents related to casework

⛳️ Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEX eligible to practice in England and Wales

• Significant experience in Adult Social Care Law

• Demonstrated success in managing Court of Protection cases

• Ability to independently oversee a full caseload

• Experience in providing legal counsel to Local Authority client departments

• Expertise in preparing court documents, applications, and bundles

• Strong drafting, advocacy, and communication abilities

• Capacity to work autonomously in a remote environment

• Experience in administrative and case management tasks as needed

• Prior experience in Local Authority legal work

• Advocacy experience

• Familiarity with Mental Capacity Act matters

• Experience advising on safeguarding and complex care issues
