Criminal Defense Attorney – Temporary

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Review documents and information pertinent to the case.

• Oversee proceedings at the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the State of Rio de Janeiro (MPRJ).

• Monitor case developments and execute necessary legal due diligence.

• Prepare applications, petitions, and submissions as required.

• Evaluate the feasibility of filing a representation with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB).

• Examine the potential civil liability of the involved parties.

• Consider measures for reimbursement or compensation when legally justified.

• Keep the client updated on the progress of the case and the actions taken.

⛳️ Requirements

• Law degree and active registration with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB).

• Proven experience in Criminal Law.

• Experience or familiarity with practices before the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the State of Rio de Janeiro (MPRJ).

• Understanding of disciplinary proceedings before the OAB.

• Knowledge of Civil Liability and compensation claims is advantageous.

• Proactive, strategic, organized, and effective communicator.

• Availability for ongoing oversight of the case.

• Previous experience with cases involving criminal representation, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and ethical-disciplinary issues before the OAB concurrently is beneficial.
