This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Support significant campaigns, litigation efforts, and policy initiatives.
β’ Conduct research and analyze laws at the federal, state, and local levels.
β’ Prepare memoranda.
β’ Review undercover video footage.
β’ Implement campaigns.
β’ Assist with administrative and corporate governance duties related to nonprofit management and legal compliance.
β’ Participate in virtual meetings at least twice a week with an attorney supervisor.
β’ Join Mercy For Animals legal team meetings and other internal gatherings.
β’ Connect virtually with fellow interns once a week.
β’ Attend educational sessions in collaboration with investigations, campaigns, policy, and organizing teams.
β’ Must be a current law student.
β’ Licensed attorneys in at least one U.S. state are welcome to apply.
β’ A commitment of at least eight weeks is required.
β’ Must be available to work up to 29 hours per week for a duration of eight to twelve weeks.
β’ Paid legal internship opportunity.
β’ Interns without funding from their law schools will receive $20 per hour.
β’ Engage in virtual community-building meetings with fellow interns.
β’ Participate in educational sessions with the Mercy For Animals teams.
β’ Join a virtual event featuring members of the Raskin family.
β’ Attend biannual virtual meetings with Mercy For Animals legal staff and Raskin family members following the internship.
