This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Troubleshoot and repair large-scale solar systems, including inverters, combiner boxes, and string circuits.
• Conduct lockout/tagout (LOTO), IV curve tracing, megger/insulation testing, and infrared scans.
• Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure projects adhere to timelines.
• Carry out operations and maintenance on utility-scale solar power plants.
• Review completed work to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Implement OSHA and NFPA 70E safety regulations on-site.
• Identify and resolve system issues directly in the field.
• Complete work orders, service logs, and all necessary documentation.
• Operate and maintain company vehicles and tools.
• Mentor and assist junior technicians in the field.
• 4–5+ years of experience in utility-scale solar.
• Proven experience leading teams or serving as the lead technician on-site.
• Familiarity with megawatt-scale photovoltaic (PV) systems.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair capabilities, particularly with inverters, DC systems, and power electronics.
• Experience in solar operations and maintenance tasks.
• Solid understanding of OSHA and NFPA 70E safety regulations.
• Proficient in using multimeters, meggers, amp clamps, and other testing equipment.
• Basic computer proficiency, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Capacity to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to travel 100% of the time and frequently visit solar farm locations.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
