Software Testing Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement the release gatekeeping strategy, making independent decisions to approve or reject production deployments across all platforms.

• Transform manual validation rules for hardware and software into automated regression suites utilizing Claude Code.

• Create comprehensive end-to-end UI automation for four web applications with Playwright.

• Design and execute API integration tests for real-time ad serving, playlist creation, and transactional event reporting.

• Enhance Docker Compose test environments to facilitate automated real-time streaming validation for Raspberry Pi edge devices.

• Perform physical testing on edge devices to assess hardware power-loss recovery, local caching, and ad-insertion timing.

• Generate test documentation driven by edge cases and establish step-by-step verification protocols in Notion.

• Investigate system failures by analyzing server logs, SSH sessions, and CLI diagnostics to produce detailed bug reports.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science or equivalent demonstrated experience through complex side projects, hardware builds, or competitive programming.

• Proficient in command-line operations, including Linux CLI, SSH, process management, shell scripting, and log analysis.

• Strong understanding of distributed web architecture, API contracts, client-server interactions, and database behaviors.

• Ability to work autonomously with a methodical approach to edge-case discovery.

• Proficient in both spoken and written English.

• Availability to work during UTC+2 hours.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted software generation using Claude Code or Cursor (highly desirable).

• Familiarity with embedded Linux, Raspberry Pi, or home-lab infrastructure (preferable).

• Experience with testing frameworks such as Pytest, Playwright, Vitest, or Cypress (preferred).
