This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a diverse Quality Engineering team encompassing manual, exploratory, regression, API, performance, accessibility, and automated testing.
• Oversee team capacity, prioritize tasks, and ensure delivery across ongoing initiatives.
• Streamline, standardize, and enhance Quality Engineering processes.
• Create an onboarding program for new Quality Engineering team members.
• Foster collaboration with Product Management, Business Analysis, Engineering, Architecture, DevOps, and Quality Engineering.
• Take ownership of designing, implementing, and evolving a scalable automation framework for web, mobile, accessibility, API, integration, performance, and regression testing.
• Define framework architecture, establish technical standards, set tool selection criteria, coding patterns, and governance practices.
• Evaluate current tools, test suites, environments, and processes for opportunities in modernization, consolidation, and automation.
• Develop a roadmap for transitioning existing testing practices to the future automation framework.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Architecture on modernization, cloud readiness, platform resilience, and technical health.
• Create standards, measurement practices, and team skills to support responsible AI adoption in Quality Engineering.
• Design and refine agentic Quality Engineering workflows.
• Lead AI-enhanced test generation, execution, maintenance, optimization, coverage analysis, and quality insights.
• Establish and communicate a vision for AI-first Quality Engineering.
• Enhance requirement quality, acceptance criteria, maturity, testability, and shared understanding of business risks prior to development.
• Promote shift-left quality practices during discovery, refinement, solution design, and delivery planning.
• Define risk-based quality strategies across Product Management, Business Analysis, Engineering, Architecture, and DevOps.
• Integrate automated test execution, quality gates, environment readiness checks, and reporting into CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure comprehensive coverage across functional, regression, performance, load, accessibility, API, and integration testing.
• Advocate for automation-first practices while maintaining exploratory, risk-based, and customer-centric testing.
• Relate Quality Engineering reporting to customer experience, franchise experience, agent productivity, release confidence, and platform stability.
• Identify quality enhancements that boost development throughput and facilitate quicker release cycles.
• Improve early quality visibility and shorten developer feedback loops.
• Establish quality metrics and framework health reporting.
• Generate insights on requirement readiness, acceptance criteria maturity, automation effectiveness, release confidence, platform resilience, and technical health.
• Assess emerging Quality Engineering and AI technologies.
• Manage resource allocation, planning, and delivery of automation framework and test modernization initiatives.
• Champion modern, AI-first Quality Engineering practices and guide responsible adoption.
• Utilize quality, productivity, and technical health insights to uncover improvements, communicate progress, and inform investment decisions.
• Define transformation metrics including manual testing effort, automation adoption, AI testing adoption, engineering throughput, defect escape trends, release cycle speed, and deployment confidence.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, software testing, or test automation, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management capacity.
• Extensive hands-on experience in designing, implementing, maintaining, and scaling test automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with framework architecture, reusable components, coding standards, governance practices, and AI-supported Quality Engineering capabilities.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, JavaScript, or a similar programming language.
• Experience in integrating automated tests, quality gates, framework health checks, and reporting into CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in modernizing legacy Quality Engineering tools and consolidating disparate testing approaches.
• Proven track record in advancing shift-left quality practices through early collaboration on requirements, acceptance criteria, solution design, testability, and delivery risk.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and the software testing lifecycle.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience in evaluating or implementing AI-assisted software engineering or Quality Engineering capabilities is preferred.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP, as well as Docker or Kubernetes is a plus.
• Experience with JMeter, Gatling, or Locust; security testing practices; TestRail or Zephyr; API mocking; service-level API testing; SQL queries; and SQL and NoSQL database testing is preferred.
• Experience in the travel industry is ideal.
