Software Engineering Manager – Search and Recommendations

• Lead and cultivate two engineering teams, collaborating closely with Product, Design, and Data.

• Ensure the teams deliver high-quality results swiftly, in alignment with business goals.

• Promote a high-performance culture centered on ownership, teamwork, and continuous enhancement.

• Support and monitor the growth of team members through regular feedback and development plans.

• Ensure effective communication and alignment among various squads and stakeholders.

• Track and enhance engineering metrics, focusing on quality, performance, and productivity.

• Play a role in the tribe’s strategic decisions by linking technology with business results.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Background in software development.

• Proven experience in managing personnel and leading engineering teams.

• Experience with distributed, scalable, and highly available systems.

• Knowledge of systems architecture and best engineering practices.

• Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams across Product, Design, and Data.

• Strong communication and influencing abilities with stakeholders at all organizational levels.

• Ability to make data-driven decisions that consider business impact.

• Experience with search, recommendation, or relevance systems, including ranking and search engines.

• Familiarity with experimentation techniques, such as A/B testing, and user experience optimization.
