This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +12 more states.
• Oversee a software development organization that includes several engineering teams.
• Convert business and organizational strategies into actionable technical roadmaps.
• Ensure alignment of systems and engineering teams with strategic goals.
• Work collaboratively with Product, Product Design, and Delivery partners to initiate project planning.
• Assess project opportunities, risks, priorities, scope, and interdepartmental issues.
• Lead the exploration, design, documentation, and communication related to system architecture, APIs, messages, and third-party integrations.
• Cultivate a collaborative and innovative culture that encourages individual creativity.
• Provide coaching, mentorship, constructive feedback, and support for career advancement.
• Evaluate system and engineering team performance and prioritize areas for improvement.
• Direct teams in executing technical projects while ensuring accountability.
• Stay informed about technology trends, promote innovation, experiment with new technologies, and engage in technology groups.
• A minimum of 7 years of professional development experience.
• At least 3 years of recent experience in managing or leading an engineering team.
• Proven experience in an agile development setting.
• Extensive knowledge of software and development engineering principles and practices.
• Proficient technical skills in one or more of the following: JavaScript development, database technologies (MSSQL, Postgres, DynamoDB), AWS serverless architecture, CI/CD, Salesforce.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Capacity to perform well under pressure in a dynamic work environment.
• Good judgment and prompt decision-making capabilities.
• Meticulous attention to detail and precision.
• Ability to cooperate and foster consensus among team members.
• Familiarity with system design, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with distributed or scalable systems and high-volume applications.
• Dedication to ongoing education in current and emerging technologies.
