This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing software engineering team.
• Drive Agile delivery by facilitating sprint planning, retrospectives, standups, prioritization, and addressing blockers.
• Set objectives, manage team capacity, and sustain momentum amidst shifting priorities and complex projects.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, technical strategies, code reviews, debugging, and resolving critical technical challenges.
• Establish engineering best practices, quality benchmarks, testing methodologies, and sustainable development workflows.
• Balance the pace of delivery with software quality, reduction of technical debt, and the long-term health of the platform.
• Assess and implement technologies, tools, and methods that enhance engineering efficiency and business impact.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Business, and Engineering stakeholders to align technical priorities with organizational goals.
• Communicate updates, risks, trade-offs, and technical recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Recruit, onboard, and retain engineering talent.
• Promote a culture of learning, experimentation, open feedback, and continuous improvement.
• 8+ years of experience in software development with a robust technical foundation.
• 4+ years of experience in leading or managing software engineering teams.
• Significant experience in mobile application development, including technologies such as React Native, iOS, Android, or similar.
• Familiarity with offline-first architecture and applications designed for environments with limited or intermittent connectivity.
• Proficient in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, .NET, Node.js, APIs, or microservices.
• Strong grasp of software architecture, system design, design patterns, and modern application development practices.
• Experience with AWS and contemporary cloud-based software environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, DevOps practices, and modern software delivery methodologies.
• Experience in leading software delivery using Agile or Scrum frameworks.
• Proven capability to collaborate effectively across Product, Design, Engineering, business teams, and senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Nice to have: experience with IoT, Bluetooth/BLE, connected devices, or hardware-integrated applications.
• Nice to have: exposure to AI/ML, data engineering, emerging technologies, or AI-enabled software development tools.
• Nice to have: experience introducing new technologies, frameworks, methodologies, or engineering practices.
• Nice to have: experience with A/B testing, feature flags, rapid prototyping, or proof-of-concepts.
