Engineering Manager, Market Data & Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the engineering team focused on Market Data & Analytics within Coinbase’s Institutional product division.

• Take ownership of the technical roadmap specific to the market data and analytics sector.

• Align team priorities with the goals of the Institutional product and drive execution from the planning phase to delivery.

• Mentor and grow a team of 5-10 engineers through effective coaching and career development initiatives.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, Exchange, Derivatives, Prime, Risk, and various cross-functional engineering teams.

• Define, sequence, and deliver market data and analytics capabilities.

• Ensure that index pricing and market data feeds meet requirements for correctness, latency, reliability, and uptime at scale.

• Influence the engineering culture and recruitment for the team.

• Establish a pipeline of outstanding talent while upholding high standards for code quality and operational excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering.

• More than 3 years of experience managing engineering teams that build high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems.

• Demonstrated success in delivering real-time data, market data, or financial infrastructure systems that handle high volumes with stringent accuracy and reliability standards.

• Extensive technical knowledge in systems design and streaming/data pipelines.

• Proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Go, or C++.

• Proven experience in hiring, developing, and retaining senior engineers, achieving measurable improvements in team growth and retention.

• Experience working with Product and business stakeholders to convert complex requirements into clear engineering plans with defined milestones.

• Responsible application of generative AI with appropriate human oversight.
