This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the design, development, and delivery of top-notch software products from initial concept to production launch.
• Create public-facing web and mobile applications utilized daily by a worldwide collector community.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and cross-functional teams to establish business requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
• Manage the entire software development lifecycle, encompassing architecture decisions, code reviews, and release management.
• Guide and mentor software engineering teams while cultivating a collaborative and inclusive atmosphere.
• Advocate for engineering best practices, continuous learning, agile methodologies, code quality, and documentation standards.
• Diagnose complex production issues and offer hands-on technical support as necessary.
• Promote company policies and contribute to a positive, engaging workplace culture.
• Recognize opportunities for process enhancements and aid in shaping a long-term technical strategy.
• Lead the team responsible for the PSA Set Registry, a consumer-oriented platform for organizing, competing, and celebrating PSA-graded collections.
• Report directly to the Director of Software Engineering.
• Over 10 years of experience in architecting service-oriented, event-driven, distributed, and cloud-based systems, along with hands-on modern API development and scalable architectures.
• At least 5 years of experience with AWS technologies like Lambda, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, and API Gateway.
• Proficient in Python.
• Strong foundational knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases like DynamoDB.
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as CDK/CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Proven ownership and comprehension of large, real-time, high-availability systems.
• Extensive technical expertise guiding architecture discussions, code quality standards, and design of reliable, scalable systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• A strong passion for mentoring and nurturing engineers.
• Previous experience as an engineering manager or technical lead with a successful track record in delivering software projects and developing engineering teams.
• Familiarity with strongly typed languages such as C# or Java is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and client-side frameworks like Vue.js, React, or Svelte is a plus.
• Must be eligible to work legally in the United States; Collectors utilizes e-Verify.
• Camera-on video interviews to encourage meaningful discussions.
