Senior Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee the technical strategy, growth of the organization, and execution of delivery within the engineering sector

• Spearhead the technical strategy and operational implementation for systems related to video creation, uploading, broadcasting, processing, editing, and viewing

• Manage senior, staff, and principal engineers

• Align technical roadmaps with the overarching business goals set by executives

• Develop and enhance distributed, high-performance systems that ensure reliability, performance, and minimal latency

• Integrate AI tools and automation into engineering workflows, including automated testing, telemetry, and software development

• Create scalable team frameworks, define career development paths, and drive workforce planning initiatives

• Make architectural choices that prioritize reliability, low latency, and scalability

• Coordinate delivery and technical compromises with executive stakeholders, product leadership, and cross-functional teams

• Simplify complex technical concepts into understandable business risks and opportunities

• Enhance pipeline delivery speed and standardize observability metrics across systems

• Establish a high-performing engineering unit in the EMEA region and provide scalable infrastructure to support user growth

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience

• Over 8 years of professional engineering experience with complex distributed systems

• More than 4 years of direct people management experience overseeing senior, staff, or principal engineers

• Proficient in software development using Javascript, Python, C#, or Java

• Expertise in architecture for distributed, high-availability production environments

• Practical experience in utilizing modern AI-first engineering methodologies

• Familiarity with agentic development environments such as Claude Code

• Strong leadership skills, technical foresight, and an AI-first operational approach
