This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia, +3 more countries.
• Lead cross-functional teams consisting of 4–5 engineers.
• Report directly to the Head of Engineering.
• Take ownership of both delivery and personnel outcomes for the team.
• Develop concrete growth plans tailored for each individual contributor.
• Ensure the team delivers on schedule with consistent quality.
• Identify risks early, manage project scope, and uphold commitments.
• Tackle conflicts head-on and manage underperformance through a defined process.
• Protect and nurture top performers within the team.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and other engineering teams.
• Provide technical guidance on system design and identify architectural risks.
• Eliminate obstacles without becoming overly involved in the implementation process.
• Implement AI tools and workflows for code review, documentation, sprint planning, and debugging.
• Cultivate the next generation of senior engineers and technical leads.
• Coordinate remote sprint ceremonies and one-on-one meetings.
• Manage delivery from roadmap estimation to release.
• Balance business value, technical integrity, security, architecture, and product pace.
• Monitor AI adoption and enhance measurable throughput without compromising quality.
• Accomplish year-one objectives, including establishing documented growth plans within 60 days, delivering committed scope within 90 days, managing retention risks, documenting performance management, ensuring reliable commitments, and enhancing AI integration.
• Extensive experience with AI integration, including the use of AI tools like Claude, Copilot, or similar workflows.
• Proven experience in developing individuals through structured growth plans and managing underperformance via a systematic approach.
• Prior experience leading fully remote teams as the standard working model.
• Ability to resolve conflicts directly and in a timely manner.
• Data-driven management skills, utilizing metrics such as velocity, retention risk, and individual contributor growth.
• Technical credibility established through code reviews, architectural contributions, and debugging assistance.
• Strong delegation and coaching abilities, with a focus on avoiding decision bottlenecks.
• Experience in building leadership depth among team members as the organization scales.
• Capability to manage distributed teams across various time zones and countries.
• Proven ability to drive predictable delivery and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
