This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Provide both technical and managerial direction for a team focused on the design of the BWRX-300 reactor pressure vessel and its internal components.
• Report directly to the Senior Engineering Manager within the Design Engineering department.
• Motivate, recruit, mentor, and cultivate technical talent and expertise.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal engineering managers, business leaders, project managers, and key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with external partners, clients, the NRC, and other relevant regulatory bodies on technical matters.
• Oversee the performance and management of assigned programs, ensuring timely engineering deliverables.
• Plan, organize, and supervise technical activities and tasks that support engineering outputs.
• Drive the design, development, and maintenance of essential systems.
• Offer guidance on system specifications to various technical disciplines and project design collaborators.
• Manage external resources to guarantee the quality of deliverables, adaptability, and enhanced cost-effectiveness.
• Assist in commercial and marketing initiatives and explore new business opportunities.
• Safeguard GVH's intellectual property rights.
• Promote process enhancements, simplification, and design-to-cost strategies.
• Uphold quality standards, including conducting design reviews and implementing corrective actions.
• A Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or relevant STEM field from an accredited institution.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in engineering design and/or project leadership.
• Capability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information, if necessary.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of a drug screening, if required.
• Proven ability to act as a liaison between organizations located in different geographic areas.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
• Ability to lead a team of highly skilled engineers while managing multiple demands and priorities.
• Project management skills encompassing communication, risk assessment, planning/scheduling, and change management.
• Familiarity with USNRC licensing requirements.
• Experience and knowledge of EPC processes, particularly in power plants.
• Understanding of the nuclear sector and technology.
• Background in new builds within the power industry.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficient in documenting, planning, marketing, and overseeing programs.
• Experience in fostering an environment that promotes individual creativity and team innovation while leading diverse groups.
