This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Lead cross-functional engineering teams and take ownership of delivery for a specific product or platform area.
• Manage sprint planning, execution, delivery quality, risk assessment, and accountability for committed work.
• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to transform roadmap priorities into actionable plans.
• Enhance Scrum/Agile processes, backlog readiness, estimation accuracy, velocity, throughput, cycle time, and team operational rhythm.
• Provide technical guidance across the modern web stack and cloud infrastructure.
• Review design proposals, architectural plans, and critical code paths.
• Optimize CI/CD practices, code review processes, observability, testing, and incident response methodologies.
• Utilize DORA metrics to pinpoint bottlenecks and steer engineering enhancements.
• Advocate for responsible AI integration throughout the software development lifecycle and assess AI tooling.
• Manage, mentor, and develop engineers through one-on-one meetings, feedback, growth planning, hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts.
• Guide senior engineers and emerging technical leaders.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in the U.S. as well as Product, QA, DevOps, and business teams.
• Communicate trade-offs, risks, and delivery status to both technical and non-technical partners.
• 6+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 2–4+ years in a leadership role such as Engineering Manager, Team Lead, or similar position.
• Proven experience delivering production software in a SaaS, web platform, or product-driven environment.
• Experience working with distributed or remote teams.
• A solid record of implementing or enhancing Scrum/Agile methodologies.
• Strong background in full-stack JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Practical experience with Node.js, React/Next.js, and API design and usage.
• Experience managing production workloads on a major cloud platform, preferably AWS.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and contemporary software delivery processes.
• Strong grasp of maintainable architecture, delivery trade-offs, and engineering excellence.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills.
• Ability to balance speed, quality, and business objectives effectively.
• Capacity to engage deeply with technical issues without causing bottlenecks.
• Ability to maintain composure under ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for AI and active engagement in AI-assisted development experimentation.
• Successful completion of a background check, which includes criminal records, prior employment, and education verification.
• Availability for flexible night-shift hours within 6:00 PM–7:00 AM PHT, with some overlap with U.S. teams.
