Software Engineering Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Implement developer tools or product features under the guidance of a senior developer.

• Contribute as either a backend or frontend engineer based on project requirements.

• Develop and maintain user-facing frontend features utilizing TypeScript/JavaScript.

• Create backend Java services that facilitate the adoption and scalability of Global Search.

• Enhance the functionality of Workiva Assistant using TypeScript.

• Monitor job assignments and status updates through internal tools.

• Operate within an Agile framework, participate in standups, define user stories, and execute development tasks.

• Perform code reviews and conduct unit tests.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study.

• Strong foundation in computer science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented software design.

• Some experience with one or more programming languages: Python, Go, Java, C/C++/C#, Dart, or JavaScript.

• Familiarity with client frameworks such as React or Angular, Google App Engine, Amazon EC2, database design, HTTP, and web protocols.

• Depending on team assignment, some experience in Python, Go, Java, C/C++/C#, or SQL may be required.

• Depending on team assignment, exposure to REST/SOAP APIs, Google App Engine, Amazon AWS, database design, HTTP, and web protocols may be necessary.

• Reliable internet access is required when working remotely outside of a Workiva office.

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Self-motivated, action-oriented, and results-driven, with a commitment to continuous improvement.

• Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities, including managing multiple processes, programs, and procedures under tight deadlines.
