Software Engineering Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage in team meetings and share insights for ongoing projects.

• Perform research and analysis to aid project objectives.

• Gain insights into the software development lifecycle through guided project tasks.

• Participate in code reviews, demonstrations, and feedback sessions.

• Adhere to relevant security, privacy, documentation, and compliance practices pertaining to healthcare technology.

• Observe and engage in Agile ceremonies and contribute to deliverables at the intern level.

• Cultivate relationships with fellow team members and learn about the company culture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Basic exposure to one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, COBOL, or SQL.

• Fundamental understanding of software development concepts acquired through coursework, academic projects, bootcamp, certification programs, or equivalent learning.

• Enthusiasm for iterative delivery, software design, testing, and software engineering practices.

• Interest in Agile methodologies, version control, code review, and team-based delivery.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other standard business productivity tools.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.

• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and adapt to changing priorities.

• Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a remote, team-oriented environment while demonstrating a customer-focused attitude.

• Preferred knowledge of mainframe and/or mid-tier application programming (COBOL, ALC, DB2) and file utilities.

• Experience in coursework, academic projects, bootcamp, certification, or personal projects involving application development, databases, cloud concepts, automation, mainframe concepts, or healthcare technology is preferred.

• At least 1 year of experience delivering usable, utilized, and beneficial solutions.

• No prior professional software development experience is necessary.

• Preferred experience in academic, volunteer, bootcamp, certification, or personal projects in software development.

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Must be enrolled in a college or university program, or have recently graduated.

• Must be a senior or expected to graduate within one year of the internship.

• Must have legal authorization to work in the US.

• Must be able to sit and utilize equipment at a workstation for up to 8 hours each day.
