Software Engineering Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +4 more locations.

📋 Description

• Benefit from guidance and mentorship from seasoned engineers

• Develop applications using TypeScript and/or Haskell

• Play a role in Mercury’s product that supports over 300,000 businesses

• Become part of an engineering team aligned with collective goals and interests

• Backend: work closely with data analysts to define and develop customer-acquisition features

• Backend: deliver services for mobile and web frontends, including transaction searches and wire transfers

• Backend: create administrative tools for support operations, focusing on fraud detection and account management

• Backend: integrate external APIs for verification checks and SWIFT-code validation

• Frontend: enhance and refine the financial technology application and user interface

• Frontend: utilize TypeScript's static typing to minimize errors

• Frontend: develop features within an established TypeScript codebase and enhance performance

• Frontend: collaborate with designers and contribute innovative product ideas

• Full-stack: engage in a mix of the aforementioned frontend and backend responsibilities

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an academic program (undergraduate, graduate, etc.)

• Backend: experience with Haskell or a strong eagerness to learn it; familiarity with SQL is required

• Frontend: proficiency in TypeScript; experience with React is advantageous

• Full-stack: experience with Haskell or a strong desire to learn it; familiarity with SQL; proficiency in TypeScript

• Passion for continuously improving skills

• A curious mindset and openness to sharing insights

• A strong appreciation for quality in both personal and peer work

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical decisions clearly
