This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Design, develop, and conduct unit tests for Python and Django backend services as well as REST APIs within a three-week Agile sprint framework.
• Create data transformation and ETL processes for transferring, mapping, normalizing, validating, and reconciling content and metadata across enterprise systems.
• Execute content identification, filtering, classification, business-rule selection, along with manual, scheduled, and event-driven triggers.
• Develop API integrations and content transfer functionalities that include authentication, authorization, secure transport, retries, error management, and transaction logging.
• Craft and optimize PostgreSQL queries while contributing to relational schema design and migrations.
• Establish asynchronous and background processing for prolonged or batched content tasks.
• Maintain and enhance existing Java components.
• Integrate services for malware scanning, integrity validation, and routing utilities.
• Construct workflow administration support, encompassing work queues, role-based permissions, exception handling, and audit logging.
• Sustain Solr and Elasticsearch search capabilities.
• Create accessible responsive interfaces utilizing TypeScript, React, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 in compliance with WCAG 2.1 standards.
• Deploy and oversee AWS services, Terraform infrastructure-as-code, and Docker containers.
• Utilize Jenkins and Git for continuous integration, automated testing, and ensuring code quality.
• Write unit tests and collaborate with government QA and testing personnel on acceptance, integration, and accessibility assessments.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies and manage JIRA user stories.
• Address feedback from code reviews while adhering to client coding standards and definitions of done.
• Manage Controlled Unclassified Information within client-owned and client-managed systems.
• Assist with engagement closeout by completing documentation and resolving tickets.
• At least 3 years of professional software development experience on Agile teams.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent additional experience.
• Significant practical experience in constructing Python backend services and REST APIs, including hands-on experience with Django in production.
• Familiarity with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL, including skills in query writing, tuning, and schema design.
• Proficient in Java for maintaining, extending, and troubleshooting existing components.
• Direct experience with front-end development using TypeScript and React.
• Working knowledge of Solr and Elasticsearch.
• Experience in developing microservices and REST APIs, including aspects like authentication, authorization, and error management.
• Competence in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Experience in developing and deploying applications on AWS.
• Familiarity with Terraform infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience with Jenkins for continuous integration and Git for source control.
• Background in Agile and Scrum methodologies, including JIRA user story development and story-point estimation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate within a fully remote integrated government and contractor team.
• Eligibility for Public Trust and capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability Determination.
• U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work full-time in the United States.
