
Software Engineer – Technical Publication Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Collaborate with Military Engine Programs to assist in developing software systems aimed at creating, publishing, distributing, and presenting technical documents.
• Oversee customer expectations while ensuring that project scope and direction stay on track.
• Enhance and sustain internal platforms that facilitate automated and on-demand publication of technical data.
• Provide support to dependent engine programs to guarantee timely release of deliveries.
• Diagnose and resolve software issues to enhance publishing efficiency.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable front-end and back-end software solutions.
• Write clean and functional code.
• Prepare and maintain documentation related to technical software development.
• Collaborate with Military Engine Programs to implement S1000D-compliant technical data standards in a subsidiary authoring suite.
• Review and revise technical publications Base of Estimates as necessary.
• Monitor the status, content, and funding cycles for each engine program.
• Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience, or an Advanced degree with 3+ years of experience in the Aftermarket industry supporting business operations.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Familiarity with Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies.
• Experience with GitHub, JIRA, or other code/product management tools.
• Over 5 years of software development experience.
• At least 3 years as a Full Stack Developer.
• Proven expertise in Python, Java, HTML5, CSS3, XSLT, JavaScript, and Apache web servers.
• Proficient in user-centered design (UI/UX) principles, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Strong understanding of React.js, including components, state management, hooks, and lifecycle methods.
• Experience with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or MongoDB, including SQL data retrieval.
• Capability to work independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• A Master’s degree in computer science or engineering with a background in Maintenance Data Engineering is preferred.
• Familiarity with Pratt & Whitney IETP or IETM systems is preferred.
• Experience with S1000D or other XML/SGML specifications is preferred.
• Experience with CORENA or other technical authoring/publication software is preferred.
• Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools is preferred.
• Ability to design and develop APIs is preferred.
• Hands-on cloud computing experience, preferably with Microsoft Azure, is preferred.
• Experience in designing and implementing AI-driven solutions, including Databricks, Snowflake, and Kobai, is preferred.
