Software Engineer – Simulation Tooling

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the architectural strategy for the Simulation Scenario Definition platform and/or programmatic Python SDK.

• Spearhead the design and execution of graphical editing tools utilized for defining intricate traffic, environment, and sensor scenarios.

• Advance Python infrastructure, encompassing algorithms for scenario serialization and validation.

• Integrate scenario tools with a large-scale cloud computing cluster.

• Guide engineers and establish standards for engineering excellence concerning API design, code quality, and testing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional experience in software development, with substantial focus on large-scale platforms, tooling, or SDK development.

• Demonstrated capability to lead technical projects from inception to production.

• Expert-level knowledge of Python, including best practices, performance enhancement, and creating robust APIs/SDKs for external users.

• Strong foundation in 3D graphics, computational geometry, and/or concepts related to real-time simulation.

• Proven record of mentoring and coaching mid-level and senior engineers, elevating technical standards, and enhancing code quality.

• Experience in C++ for performance-critical components or integration with simulation engines (preferred).

• Experience in developing or extending a Domain-Specific Language (DSL) or high-level scripting language (preferred).

• Background in game engines such as Unity or Unreal, or other professional simulation software (preferred).

• Experience in data visualization techniques for large, complex datasets (preferred).

• Familiarity with the architecture of Autonomous Vehicle technology or complex robotics/safety-critical systems (preferred).
