Software Engineer – Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop and maintain Python services, which include REST APIs utilizing FastAPI, batch jobs, and shared libraries.

• Implement functionalities within claims, eligibility, and drug pricing workflows.

• Create well-structured, maintainable, and unit-tested code.

• Compose and optimize SQL queries, reports, and stored procedures for MySQL databases.

• Engage in the complete application lifecycle, covering design, code review, deployment, and production support.

• Collaborate with various departments to ensure technical solutions align with business objectives.

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to expedite delivery while ensuring correctness, testing, and review.

• Take ownership of real features early in the process and gain insights into the pharmacy benefits domain through development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 3 years of hands-on experience in Python development.

• Strong foundation in computer science principles, including data structures, testing, and version control (git).

• Attention to detail and discipline when handling sensitive data.

• Proficient in relational databases and SQL, with a preference for MySQL.

• Experience in creating RESTful APIs in Python, with FastAPI being preferred.

• Familiarity with the Atlassian toolset and Agile development practices.

• Comfortable working within Linux environments.

• Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar, along with the discernment to evaluate their outputs.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship or assistance, including visa transfers or DSO documentation, now or in the future.

• Ability to work without immigration-related employment authorization sponsorship, covering H1B, O1, E3, H1B1, TN, F1 OPT, F1 STEM OPT, F1 CPT, E-2, or E-3 sponsorship.

• Experience in the healthcare industry is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with HIPAA/PHI regulations is a plus.

• Exposure to AWS is beneficial.
