Software Engineer, Scala

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design and execute features from start to finish, encompassing specification, testing, review, and deployment.

• Contribute to the distributed ledger technology that supports critical market infrastructure.

• Uphold exceptional standards for code quality, test coverage, and documentation.

• Collaborate within a globally distributed Agile team across various time zones.

• Utilize asynchronous-first communication for coordination.

• Engage in architecture discussions and participate in technical decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience with Scala.

• Proficient understanding of functional programming principles, including typeclasses, effect systems, immutability, and referential transparency.

• Solid comprehension of the Scala type system, including implicits/givens and type inference.

• Capability to utilize the compiler for ensuring correctness guarantees.

• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, encompassing consensus mechanisms, fault tolerance, eventual consistency, and partition handling.

• Experience in participating in architecture discussions and making technical decisions.

• Familiarity with gRPC, Protobuf, and service-oriented architectures.

• Experience with Canton and/or Daml is a plus.

• Excellent communication skills suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• High level of autonomy, accountability, and ownership.

• Ability to offer constructive feedback during technical discussions.
