Software Engineer, Safety Processing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Enhance and expand Discord's capability to identify and review harmful content on the platform.

• Develop and sustain production systems that function effectively at a large scale.

• Engage in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability.

• Employ an adversarial approach by evaluating security vulnerabilities, abuse scenarios, edge cases, and scalability issues.

• Work together with Trust & Safety, ML, Policy, and product teams to comprehend requirements and deliver impactful solutions.

• Play a vital role in the critical infrastructure from the design phase through post-launch iterations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on backend services and/or infrastructure using Python (or a similar language).

• Proven experience in building and managing distributed systems and production services at scale, such as those provided by GCP or AWS.

• Strong debugging capabilities and proficiency in navigating complex, multi-service codebases.

• Outstanding collaboration and communication skills, along with experience working alongside cross-functional partners.
