Software Engineer, Ruby on Rails

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails.

• Create and maintain APIs along with relational databases.

• Establish and uphold automated testing frameworks.

• Develop and assist with system integrations.

• Ensure the application's quality through rigorous testing and performance evaluations.

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver high-quality, thoroughly tested solutions.

• Take ownership of features from inception to completion.

• Work alongside Project Managers and Business Analysts to carry out assigned tasks and implement documented business requirements.

• Provide technical insights to development initiatives and overall IT department objectives.

• Engage in application monitoring and on-call production support, including nights and weekends as necessary.

• Recognize and support the adoption of emerging technologies.

• Assist in systems that enhance access to behavioral healthcare.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems/Technology, or a Two (2) year Degree Program from an accredited technical institution, or Certifications in multiple technologies from an accredited training program.

• Over 3 years of professional experience in Software Engineering.

• A minimum of 3 years of professional development experience in Ruby on Rails utilizing git.

• Ability to successfully pass a background check upon hiring and throughout employment, including checks for criminal history, employment verification, education, sanctions, prohibited parties, sex offender registry, and drug screening.

• Familiarity with JavaScript, React, HTML/CSS, PostgreSQL, Linux, RSpec, Sidekiq, Jenkins, REST API development, Swift, New Relic, and FHIR standards is advantageous.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, across all levels of the organization.

• Exceptional active listening abilities.

• Capability to manage cross-departmental projects and make rapid decisions while adhering to change-management protocols.

• Detail-oriented with robust organizational skills.

• High-speed internet service with a minimum download speed of 20 Mbps, upload speed of 5 Mbps, and a maximum latency of 100 ms, to be installed before commencement.

• A quiet workspace with minimal background noise for phone calls.
