Software Engineer, Payments

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Create, drive, and implement the long-term vision and strategy for Corporate Payments, encompassing both core and cross-cutting services.

• Establish and execute the architectural roadmap for the Bill Pay platform.

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable Java and Spring Boot applications within the AWS Cloud environment.

• Construct and improve event-driven services utilizing Apache Kafka.

• Develop and manage PostgreSQL and Oracle database solutions, including SQL development and Oracle stored procedures.

• Collaborate with Corporate Payments engineering teams to leverage development practices, services, and components.

• Apply engineering practices that minimize time-to-market while ensuring quality and reliability.

• Promote innovation, collaboration, empowerment, and ongoing learning within the engineering team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 2 years of professional software engineering experience.

• Proven experience in developing applications with Java and Spring Boot.

• Familiarity with developing and deploying applications in the AWS Cloud.

• Experience in building event-driven applications using Apache Kafka.

• Proficient in developing and supporting applications with PostgreSQL and Oracle Database.

• Knowledge of Oracle stored procedures and SQL optimization techniques.

• Skilled in writing high-quality automated tests, including unit, component, and integration tests.

• Strong grasp of the test pyramid.

• Comprehensive understanding of software design principles, security, and compliance requirements in cloud and data settings.

• Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and technical communication abilities.

• Capability to work efficiently in a dynamic, agile environment with shifting priorities.

• Preferred: experience in financial services or payments, cloud-native SaaS applications, and working with geographically distributed engineering teams.
