Software Engineer – Payments

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and maintain microservices within the payments sector.

• Create user-friendly interfaces for intricate payment workflows.

• Ensure code is easily extensible and readable by adhering to Clean Code principles.

• Proactively identify technical challenges through monitoring, alerts, and tracking.

• Oversee the handling of payment instructions, incoming settlements, and webhook communications.

• Provide technical support to users and Customer Support teams.

• Develop and sustain automated testing across various testing levels.

• Collaborate with DevOps to operate platform services on Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS.

• Engage in cross-functional teamwork, share expertise through pair programming, and collaboratively develop solutions.

• Challenge existing code structures and clearly delineate responsibilities to foster maintainable solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in software development.

• Proficient in Java programming.

• Ideally, experience with Spring Boot and other relevant technologies within the tech stack.

• Familiarity with both relational and NoSQL databases.

• Experience with React, TypeScript, and Material UI.

• A keen interest in digital payments and financial processes.

• Experience with external APIs, webhooks, and asynchronous event handling is advantageous.

• Background in payments, fintech, or integration settings is preferred.

• Familiarity with payment service providers like Adyen or Stripe is beneficial but not mandatory.

• Interest in Domain-Driven Design, microservices, and hexagonal architecture; practical experience is favored.

• Knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Gradle, and Kubernetes.

• Experience with Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS.

• Willingness and capability to utilize AI-assisted development tools.

• Fluent in German (minimum B2 level).

• Strong command of English.
