Software Engineer – Medvitals

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Develop, execute, sustain, oversee, assist, and document application systems for both departmental and enterprise levels.

• Install, modify, and assess applications, operating systems, file structures, hardware, communication tools, and productivity software.

• Evaluate business, clinical, and educational processes, translating requirements into functional and technical specifications.

• Generate software deliverables while maintaining databases and application system code.

• Oversee the complete life cycle of medium to large-scale complex projects.

• Collect intricate system requirements and investigate existing technologies.

• Formulate project plans, data frameworks, algorithms, transformations, and application solutions.

• Document code, processes, tests, and provide technical or end-user guidance.

• Offer application design and development direction to junior staff while mentoring them on testing tools and technologies.

• Create and design innovative, integrated solutions.

• Develop and execute intricate test scenarios to validate application performance.

• Apply changes in accordance with change-management policies and procedures.

• Oversee implementations, resolve complex issues, and deliver application support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in computer science, computer information systems, information technology, electronic engineering, or a related discipline.

• Five years of relevant experience with computer systems and applications.

• Additional education may compensate for required experience.

• Additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma or its equivalent, according to the JHU equivalency formula.

• Familiarity with the assigned application and its platform is preferred.

• Intermediate proficiency in Agile Methodology, Algorithms, Application Programming Interface (API), CI/CD, Cloud Serverless Computing Architecture, Code Review, Data Architecture and Design, Data Structures, Debugging, Dev Ops, JIRA, New Product Development, Secure Coding, Service-Oriented Architecture, Software Design Patterns, Software Development Life Cycle, Software Engineering, and Unit Testing.

• Candidates who are successful will be subject to a pre-employment background check.
