This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the team dedicated to reliability engineering for transportation and delivery fulfillment systems.
• Manage and enhance supply chain systems that transport freight to stores and distribution centers and deliver products to customers.
• Own systems around the clock and act as the escalation point during significant incidents.
• Oversee technical incident response and communicate the impact, scope, and recovery expectations to business and executive stakeholders.
• Establish a cohesive on-call and escalation model, problem review process, and prioritized reliability backlog.
• Map Critical User Journeys and set as well as enforce Service Level Objectives for availability and performance.
• Eliminate recurring operational tasks through problem management, automation, and applied AI.
• Ensure that changes do not lead to incidents and deliver resilience testing and security remediation on schedule.
• Collaborate with UX, engineering, and product management teams to create secure, reliable, and scalable software solutions.
• Automate infrastructure, monitoring services, and test cases using custom code or scripts.
• Work with vendors and partners to implement essential tooling and platforms.
• Create dashboards, logging, alerting systems, and proactive responses.
• Contribute to enterprise-wide destructive testing, automation, and engineering empowerment tools.
• Evaluate technologies for enterprise-wide adoption and lead review board sessions.
• Provide production application support and serve as a technical escalation point for engineers.
• Lead, mentor, coach, hire, develop, recognize, and retain Software Engineers.
• Conduct annual and mid-year reviews and guide development plans for engineers.
• Foster collaboration and expose engineers to various career interests.
• Learn about new technologies and best practices while building relationships with technology leaders in other companies.
• Must be at least eighteen years old.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a field related to the job.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in leading a combination of software engineering and daily operational tasks.
• Proven experience managing globally distributed engineering teams across various application domains.
• Experience taking ownership of 24x7 on-call, incident response, and escalation processes.
• Familiarity with establishing problem management practices and conducting root cause analysis.
• Experience in implementing automation and AI-driven solutions.
• Background in supporting supply chain, transportation, fulfillment, logistics, or customer delivery platforms.
• Strong communication skills at the executive level.
• Experience defining and managing Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and service performance metrics.
• Ability to recruit, develop, mentor, and retain engineering talent.
• Experience in developing technology roadmaps and conducting quarterly planning.
• Proficient in managing engineering capacity, operational workload, cloud consumption, and technology budgets.
• Experience overseeing CI/CD pipelines, release management, and change governance.
• Proven track record in driving resiliency, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of observability platforms such as Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic, or Elastic.
• Experience operating cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure, including Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Experience supporting hybrid technology environments, vendor-supported applications, and relational databases.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, or Bash.
• Experience collaborating with software engineering, quality engineering, security, infrastructure, and business teams.
• Experience working with security and compliance teams on PCI-DSS and SOC 2 requirements.
• Working knowledge of identity and access management, secrets management, credential lifecycle management, and enterprise security practices.
• Remote/Virtual work arrangement.
• Overnight travel typically required only 5% to 20% of the time.
