This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Take ownership of the provider network platform, encompassing ingestion pipelines, matching logic, internal APIs, and administrative tools for operations.
• Transform disorganized third-party provider rosters into a reliable and standardized network representation.
• Manage provider matching, identity resolution, and coverage determinations.
• Oversee the real-time decision service, ensuring accountability for latency, uptime, service level objectives (SLOs), safeguards, and rollouts.
• Develop and enhance AI agents for operational review, approval processes, triage, and workflow automation.
• Establish and uphold internal API contracts utilized by various teams.
• Identify patterns of card misuse and design workflows to mitigate them.
• Manage cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, migrations, observability, on-call responsibilities, incident response, cost management, and the secure handling of PHI and payment data.
• Track operational metrics, pinpoint areas for improvement, and ensure feedback loops are closed.
• Collaborate with network operations, member services, product teams, and API-consuming teams to define requirements and establish a roadmap.
• Acquire domain knowledge in provider-network workflows within the first 90 days.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in shipping production software.
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript.
• Sufficient experience with TypeScript and React to independently manage a frontend.
• Strong understanding of SQL and relational database principles.
• Proven experience in constructing data-intensive applications that handle, transform, and reconcile disorganized third-party data.
• Familiarity with matching or deduplication challenges, including record linkage and entity resolution.
• Experience with systems where latency and availability are critical, including knowledge of SLOs, timeouts, caching, graceful degradation, kill switches, and meticulous rollouts.
• A correctness-oriented mindset with checks, invariants, and audit trails.
• Ability to think in terms of systems and architecture, including understanding failure modes and blast radius.
• Experience with production cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or equivalent, along with on-call experience.
• Comfort in engaging directly with non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Current usage of tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar as primary development resources.
• Capability to structure prompts, divide tasks into subagents, and prevent AI output drift.
• Review all AI-generated differences thoroughly.
• Passion for developing AI tools, including skills, evaluations, fixtures, and integrations.
• Strongly preferred: a portfolio showcasing AI-assisted work.
• Strongly preferred: sole ownership of a significant production service.
• Strongly preferred: experience with LLM-backed features that involve tool usage, agent loops, evaluations, and unsupervised-action policies.
• Strongly preferred: background in payments, risk, or fraud management.
• Strongly preferred: familiarity with search, relevance, or production embeddings.
• Strongly preferred: experience in data platforms or master data management.
• Strongly preferred: ability to extract services from a monolith and transition them without disruption.
• Prior experience in healthcare, insurance, or payments is not mandatory.
