Software Engineer, Integrations Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and take ownership of full-stack features and foundational platform elements utilized by internal teams, partners, and customers.

• Deploy, manage, support, and maintain integrations within Vanta's Government Cloud environment.

• Oversee integrations and engage in on-call duties, incident response, and change management within the GovCloud domain.

• Contribute to services related to authentication, data ingestion, and schema evolution.

• Collaborate with federal subject matter experts to establish and uphold continuous monitoring detectors and automated testing using versioned framework mappings.

• Create secure, well-documented, scalable services and user interfaces with TypeScript, React, and Node.js.

• Enhance performance, operational excellence, and software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.

• Utilize AI tools and processes to expedite development and operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in full-stack development, focused on building reliable, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems.

• Proven experience in designing APIs and reusable components that others rely on.

• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, authentication protocols (OAuth, API keys, JWT), and security best practices.

• Experience in developing data ingestion processes from external systems with features like rate limiting, retries, idempotency, and webhooks.

• Systems thinking with an emphasis on scalability, reliability, failure modes, edge cases, and risk management.

• Capability to collaborate with internal teams, federal agency personnel, vendors, and Third-Party Assessment Organizations (3PAOs).

• Interest in security or compliance, and in creating trustworthy systems within a regulated setting.

• Willingness to responsibly leverage AI to enhance efficiency and impact.

• Must be located in and conduct all work exclusively from within the United States, accessing systems solely from U.S. locations.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

• Preferred: familiarity with FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, and FISMA compliance frameworks.

• Preferred: experience in building or operating within a government or regulated cloud environment, such as AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or GCP.
