Software Engineer III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the design and development of scalable, high-quality software solutions that align with business objectives and technical strategies.

• Take ownership of intricate features and projects from the planning stage through to implementation, testing, and deployment.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to establish technical requirements and successfully deliver projects.

• Engage in architectural discussions alongside principal engineers and architects.

• Provide mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.

• Conduct and facilitate code reviews.

• Diagnose complex application and integration issues while contributing to root cause analysis.

• Participate in Agile SDLC activities, encompassing sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.

• Occasionally oversee technical efforts as a project lead.

• Leverage knowledge of health plan operations to inform technical decisions.

• Take part in the on-call rotation to support production stability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced expertise in one or more programming languages, such as Java, Go, or TypeScript.

• In-depth understanding of both relational and non-relational databases, with a focus on query optimization and data modeling.

• Proficient-level experience with Git and source control workflows.

• Skillful in configuring and optimizing development environments and tools.

• Significant experience in designing and integrating RESTful and event-driven web services and APIs.

• Comfortable operating in Linux-based environments.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Agile methodologies and the entire SDLC.

• Practical hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Strong understanding of secure coding practices, performance optimization, and system reliability principles.

• Experience in mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.

• Background in contributing to or influencing architectural decisions.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong skills in collaboration, analysis, problem-solving, initiative, autonomy, ownership, and accountability.

• Preferred qualifications include knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP; React or Next.js; testing frameworks such as JUnit, Jest, Mocha, or Playwright; experience in regulated industries; and understanding of HIPAA, PHI, and IIHI.
