
Software Engineer II – ServiceNow

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Design and manage applications, automations, and workflows on the ServiceNow platform.
• Oversee and improve integrations between ServiceNow and external systems, utilizing REST APIs while ensuring data consistency, logging, and effective error handling.
• Engage in requirements refinement alongside business and technical teams, posing questions and pinpointing dependencies and impacts.
• Create new features and suggest enhancements to current workflows.
• Analyze incidents and integration failures, determine root causes, and implement solutions, collaborating with the team on complex issues.
• Document configurations, customizations, integrations, and technical choices.
• Participate in code reviews, adhering to established standards and offering constructive feedback.
• Practical experience in developing on the ServiceNow platform (approximately 1+ year) with a strong foundation in JavaScript.
• Proficiency in Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, GlideRecord, and GlideAjax.
• Experience in creating automations using Flow Designer.
• Familiarity with consuming REST APIs and managing existing integrations, including the use of IntegrationHub/spokes.
• Understanding of the platform's data model: tables, fields, references, dot-walking, and table extension.
• Knowledge of ITSM modules such as Incident, Request, Change, and Problem.
• Insight into Service Catalog configuration, including items, variables, and approval workflows.
• Awareness of platform security measures: roles, groups, and ACLs.
• Experience utilizing Update Sets to transition changes between instances.
• Skills in troubleshooting the platform, including reading system logs, testing with Background Scripts, and investigating root causes.
• An analytical and collaborative mindset, with the ability to identify risks and seek support when needed.
• ServiceNow certifications, particularly CSA (Certified System Administrator) and CAD (Certified Application Developer), are advantageous.
• Experience with Scripted REST APIs, Custom Applications, application scope, and Service Portal/Employee Center portals is a plus.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and widgets is beneficial for portal development.
• Knowledge of Python or other programming languages beyond JavaScript is an advantage.
